Windlass Engineers & Services, a leading U.S.-based manufacturing company, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in job shop manufacturing, CNC machining, or metal fabrication, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys engaging with customers to drive sales and ensure smooth operations.
The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for managing customer inquiries, processing orders, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver high-quality service. The right candidate will have a strong ability to multitask, interpret mechanical drawings, and understand steel products.
Key Responsibilities:
•Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring timely responses and solutions.
•Develop a strong understanding of Windlass’ products and services to provide accurate recommendations, cross-sell, and upsell solutions.
•Manage and process customer orders, RFQs, and quotes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
•Review and interpret basic mechanical drawings to recommend appropriate products and solutions.
•Collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics to ensure timely order fulfillment.
•Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and pricing information in our ERP system.
•Proactively follow up with customers to address concerns, provide updates, and strengthen relationships.
•Assist in preparing bids, estimates, and proposals for new business opportunities.
•Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
✅ Experience:
•3-5 years of Inside Sales or Customer Service experience in a job shop, CNC machining, or steel fabrication environment.
•Knowledge of steel products, machining, and fabrication processes (required).
•Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings (preferred).
✅ Technical Skills:
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and CRM software.
•Familiarity with CAD software (a plus).
•Experience working with ERP or order management systems, especially JobBoss or Microsoft Dynamics (preferred).
✅ Soft Skills & Competencies:
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
•Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
•Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to solving challenges.
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
