Overview

We are seeking an Inside Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail, customer service, and knowledge of metal recycling industry. If you are detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

- Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a scrap metal beginning with intent to purchase through delivery and account set up if necessary.

- Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements, are or have been existing suppliers.

- Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.

- Negotiates the lowest possible price for the material balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.

- Provide back-up coverage to Scale Master, Cashier, Inspector and Non-Ferrous Buyer positions when needed.

- Data Entry and enter daily car logs into spreadsheet for whole and incomplete cars purchased the previous day.

- Assist in weighing in Dropped Cars from Tow Companies as needed.

- Be on time and at work daily

- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

- Team player with the ability to build relationships and effectively interact both internally and externally with people at all levels of the organization.

- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

- High School diploma or GED preferred

- Must be intermediate in Microsoft Office software.

- This position requires the ability of basic hand tool usage, basic mechanical ability, some equipment operation, supervisor or lead experience, problem-solving, good handwriting, and written communication

Pay: $27.81 - $28.31 per hour
