This is a skilled level molding set up technician job requiring demonstrated skills in molding operations. The ideal candidate will oversee injection molding setups and ensure optimal machine performance. This position plays a crucial role in driving efficiency and quality in our molding operations. This position works closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure that production is completed in accordance with customer requirements.
1. Conduct machine start-ups and setup molding machines for initial run of any part including automation or other required equipment (degators)
2. Document and maintain machine processes for molding.
3. Provides technical support and direction to molding machine operators
4. Adheres to all safety procedures while inserting molds and conducting general machine set-up
5. Ensures molding machines are producing parts as specified in work instructions, and all process documentation is complete and up to date
6. Provides support to setup technicians and operators as needed, ensuring minimal downtime.
7. Participates in shift change meetings, providing critical updates and priorities to the team.
8. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Tooling teams to implement process improvements and enhance overall efficiency
· Knowledge and experience of basic injection molding manufacturing strongly preferred
· Willingness and ability to learn the metal and plastics injection molding process
· Willingness and ability to learn to set up molding machines, and other auxiliary equipment
· Demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills both written and oral
· Demonstrated good customer service and leadership during all interactions with other employees
· Basic computer skills; knowledge of ERP systems desired and understanding of SPC
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment
· Willingness and ability to take department related training (internal and external)
· Background of good mechanical, mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities
· Application and knowledge of safety procedures related to injection molding machines
· Willingness and ability to work hours outside of the typically scheduled hours including any shift or week-ends
· Willingness and ability to lift approximately 75 lbs. and stand to perform job functions for extended periods of time.
