This position works within the IT Infrastructure Messaging, Windows & Virtualization team and reports directly to the IT Messaging, Windows & Virtualization Manager.
The person that fills this role will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of the organization's IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on disaster recovery, server management, virtualization, and cloud services to include: server performance, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure, AWS, Active Directory, tier 2 technical support, and technical documentation. Secondary responsibilities include: automation coding/scripting, Google Workspace, and other duties as assigned.
This department is responsible for delivering on-premise, cloud, and disaster recovery infrastructure technologies that align with Vulcan’s Strategic Pillars. The candidate filling this role will work directly with our following teams: networking, voice & telecommunications, database administration & release management, Linux & storage, end-user support, information security, as well as our IT business partners.
The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be able to thrive in a corporate environment working with technical peers, architects, developers, and the business. In addition, they will have the ability to excel in a team-oriented environment; freely sharing information, learning from, and teaching co-workers.
