Job Overview
This role requires a skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician. The ideal candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and instrumentation at our geothermal renewable power plant sites, ensuring optimal equipment operation and efficiency.
Note: This role will be located at our Power Plant in Imlay, NV with occasional travel to our other sites.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Install, inspect, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and power distribution systems
•Perform routine Maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently and comply with Safety standards
•Connect generators and transformers
•Calibrate, install and maintain instrumentation equipment, including flow meters, pressure sensors, temperature controllers, and analyzers
•Design and implement control system upgrades or modifications as required
•Use testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical and control system issues
•Analyze control logic and electrical schematics to troubleshoot system failures and inefficiencies
•Adhere to electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including OSHA and NEC requirement
•Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently, following company and industry safety protocols, procedures and practice
•Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service logs, calibration records, and system updates
•Assist in developing and updating electrical and instrumentation schematics, diagrams, and procedures
•Work closely with the team members, engineering, and production teams to minimize plant downtime and to optimize equipment performance
•Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation schematics
•Strong understanding of industrial sensors and measurement technologies
•Experience with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and motor control systems.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to prepare reports and manage data
•Excellent organizational skills
•Ability to work in a team environment or autonomously as a task requires
•Competency with Microsoft Office computer systems and software
•Ability to conduct all functions with honesty and integrity
•Ability to drive positive and productive outcomes
Education and Experience:
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Licensed Industrial Electrician or equivalent certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician).
•Certification in instrumentation and controls (e.g., Rockwell, Allen Bradley)
Preferred Education and Experience:
•A technical diploma or associate’s degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
•Familiarity with industrial automation systems and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
•Troubleshoot and repair control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems
Physical and work environment requirements:
•Ability to lift to 50lbs
•Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (i.e., hot, cold, etc.)
•Must be able to traverse all areas of construction sites
•Must be able to travel to various locations
•Must be able to inspect construction sites, systems, and projects
•Must be able to operate a company vehicle with a valid driver’s license
