The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician will support work through a combination of sustaining activities and engineering projects, including new product development. Under supervision, the I&E Technician performs a variety of engineering work in planning, installing, monitoring, and maintaining control systems and machinery.
- Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays, etc.
- Inspect, repair, replace transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and electrical systems
- Work with a wide variety of instruments including, ultrasonic, guided wave radar, mass flow, pressure transducers, RTDs, etc.
- Understand piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, and wire lists
- Perform all duties in a manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies
- Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns
- Provide technical and hands on support as required during shutdowns
- Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems including low voltage 24VDC to 480VAC
- Work from instrument drawings and P&ID’s, identify end devices and components
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Five plus years of experience in instrumentation of equipment required
- Knowledge and experience in the design, installation and troubleshooting of electrical equipment required
- Working knowledge of PLC, HMI and automated equipment & standard instrumentation types (4-20 mA, 0-5 V, pulse, MODBUS) required
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics and one-line diagrams required
- Ability to work independently, as well as with cross-functional teams of electrical technicians, mechanics, welders, operations personnel, engineers, and safety professionals required
- Journey man electrician certification is preferred
- Natural gas industry experience is preferred

Work Environment - Conditions vary and include:
- Field work covering Texas, New Mexico, and other remote locations

- Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs or more at times
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
