Key Project Requirements:
•5+ years of hands-on experience commissioning GE control systems (7HA turbine experience strongly preferred)
•Proficiency with GE Toolbox software for system configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting
•Ability to interpret and apply logic diagrams, interface cards, and electrical schematics during startup and commissioning
•Demonstrated success supporting instrumentation and control system installation, diagnostics, and operational readiness on large-scale power projects
Job Summary:
NAES is seeking an experienced Instrument Control System (ICS) Engineer to support the construction and commissioning of a combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facility powered by GE 7HA turbines. Reporting to the Sr. Site Lead, the ICS Engineer will be a key contributor to ensuring the proper installation, configuration, and performance of all control systems. This role is instrumental in maintaining optimal plant operations, system reliability, and peak efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with GE control systems, including Toolbox software, and a strong collaborative mindset in a fast-paced project environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of GE control systems and instrumentation on site
•Monitor and assess system health, identify performance issues, and implement corrective actions
•Troubleshoot and resolve DCS control and tuning problems to ensure stable plant operation
•Analyze and resolve control system issues related to plant safety, reliability, and efficiency
•Develop and optimize control strategies that align with evolving operational requirements
•Review and interpret logic diagrams, interface cards, schematics, and control documentation
•Support cybersecurity testing and enhancements for control network systems
•Collaborate cross-functionally with construction, commissioning, and operations teams
Job Requirements:
•Hands-on experience with GE large-frame turbine control systems
•Proficient in GE Toolbox for configuration, tuning, and diagnostics
•Ability to read and interpret logic drawings, electrical schematics, and interface cards
•Strong understanding of control system installation and commissioning principles
•Skilled in GE control system troubleshooting, tuning, and operational best practices
•Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and control system safety protocols
•Excellent communication skills; able to interface with internal and external stakeholders
Education / Experience:
•High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
•Engineering Degree/Certification (or equivalent experience) strongly preferred
•5+ years GE control system startup experience
•Toolbox software experience required.
•OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Training preferred
