- Strong working knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, instrumentation testing equipment, and electrical systems up to medium/high voltage.
- Ability to support outage planning, system ownership responsibilities, and safe work practices in a combined-cycle facility.
Job Summary:
NAES is seeking an experienced IC&E Technician to support a combined-cycle power facility in Maryland. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations. The Technician will work with DCS, PLCs, and other control equipment, support outage and maintenance planning, and provide technical expertise to optimize system performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair plant electrical, control, and instrumentation systems (LV/MV/HV).
- Troubleshoot control circuits, relays, motors, and protective devices.
- Perform system ownership duties, including updates to documentation and participation in outage planning.
- Support safe work practices, including lockout/tagout and job safety briefings.
- Assist with commissioning, testing, and calibration of control equipment.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and operations staff during outages and major maintenance events.
- Document maintenance activities in the plant’s computerized work management system.- 5+ years of IC&E maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
- Experience with DCS, PLCs, and instrumentation testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and control drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical systems up to medium/high voltage and associated safety practices.
- Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and respond to emergency call-outs.- 5+ years of IC&E maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
- Experience with digital control systems, PLCs, Siemens T3000, CEMS, and Emerson Ovation Control System preferred.
