Position Overview
The Instrument Controls Coordinator serves as a subject matter expert in instrumentation, control systems, and analyzers (I&C), providing technical support and expertise to maintenance teams. This role ensures maintenance practices align with safety, health, and environmental standards (SSHE). The coordinator supports both routine and project-based maintenance efforts, including turnarounds and new installations. This position requires strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams and disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement maintenance design philosophies and ensure compliance with project specifications for I&C systems.
- Provide technical support during risk assessments, incident investigations, and early-phase engineering studies (e.g., conceptual and pre-FEED).
- Support cost management and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Assist operations teams with complex troubleshooting and offer support during peak operating loads.
- Contribute technical input to training development and delivery.
- Share best practices and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Participate in company networks and knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Develop personal technical expertise and share knowledge across teams.
- Previous experience in a closely related role (e.g., I&C Coordinator, Analyzer Technician, DCS Technician, PLC Technician, or Maintenance Specialist).
- Adaptability, analytical capability, collaboration, effective communication.
- Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) management
- Maintenance planning, scheduling, and management
- Expertise in instrumentation and control/analyzer (I&C/A) systems
- Relevant discipline-specific certifications or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to describe field conditions and propose effective solutions.
- Team-oriented mindset and the ability to work across teams without direct authority.
- Capable of managing tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Role Details
Location: Local to Midkiff, TX
Pay: $45/hr (W2 Only)
Schedule: Monday-Friday
