As an HVAC Technician at Coeur Rochester, you will install, maintain, and repair HVAC and air quality systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and operational procedures. Your role will involve troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and supporting the electrical department, all while adhering to safety regulations and participating in scheduled maintenance activities.
- Observe and follow plant environmental and operational rules, procedures and guidelines.
- Strictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by Coeur Rochester and MSHA.
- Ensure work is done in compliance with electrical (NEC and NFPA) codes.
- Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and other air quality systems.
- Read, understand and effectively utilize technical information from electrical schematics, vendor information, procedures and codes.
- Participate in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
- Create and modify reports and records associated with the HVAC systems of the mine.
- Perform corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist the Electrical Department with electrical duties as required.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.
- Must be able to work Shifts, weekends and/or holidays when necessary.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Perform environmental and general housekeeping duties.
- Attend Safety and Maintenance training.
Perform other duties as directed.
- High School Diploma or GED
- EPA 608 Universal Certification or ability to obtain
- HVAC Degree, certification or equivalent experience
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of HVAC and other air quality equipment used in the mining industry
- The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment
- Hands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to auxiliary equipment, power and control systems
- The ability to read process control documentation such as process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and wiring diagrams
- Ability to methodically troubleshoot HVAC/Air Handling electrical and control systems
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties
- Must be able to operate computers using a Windows operating system. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products a plus
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to climb ladders, ability to work on elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and in harsh weather conditions
- Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties
- Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
- Hourly Rate Range: $40.10 - $46.64 (DOE)
