Mechanical Resource Group, an HVAC, hydronics, sales, and service organization, is seeking a Service Technician. The Service Technician role is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

Responsibilities
•Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for commercial customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
•Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
•Startup installed equipment and adjust to the manufacturer’s and job’s specification.
•Perform required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, and observations. Have client sign necessary paperwork.
•Ability to make ethical and responsible decisions while keeping the customer and our company interests in mind.
•Provide sales personnel with qualified leads and opportunities.
Skills
•5 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting HVAC services issues or at least 3 years of experience performing maintenance on your own for a company.
•Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret plans and manuals.
•Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
•Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
•Strong problem solving and communication skills, both oral and written.
•A team player who works well with others and contributes to the group.
•Flexible schedule to include willingness to work overtime hours when required.
Proficiencies
•Competent on trouble shooting systems up to 100 tons.
•Proficient with brazing practices.
•Understands how to properly pull vacuums on systems to appropriate micron level and understands how to perform decay test.
•Understands how to recover refrigerant properly and quickly in a safe manner.
•Understands how to properly charge HVAC systems with various types of refrigerants by using superheat and subcooling.
•Has a good grasp on current HVAC technologies and new system designs such as VRF.
•Proficient with boilers up to 1 million BTU.
Requirements
•MUST be able to handle being on call and responding to afterhours calls appropriately.
•Must possess a valid Tennessee State driver’s license and a safe driving record and be able and willing to operate company-owned vehicles.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, and sit. May be required to work in restricted spaces. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and greater than 60 pounds using appropriate equipment.
•Must possess EPA universal certification.
