Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The HVAC Residential Service Manager oversees the daily operations of the residential HVAC service department. This role includes managing service technicians, ensuring quality control, maintaining customer satisfaction, improving department efficiency, and achieving departmental goals. The ideal candidate has strong technical HVAC knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The duties/responsibilities of this position are:
•Lead, coach, and supervise residential HVAC service technicians to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
•Schedule and dispatch service calls efficiently to optimize technician productivity and minimize downtime.
•Monitor and evaluate service technician performance through ride-alongs, call audits, and customer feedback.
•Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to technicians as needed.
•Ensure all service work meets or exceeds code and company standards.
•Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and performance metrics.
•Manage inventory, tools, equipment, and ensure proper maintenance and accountability.
•Collaborate with sales and installation teams to ensure smooth handoffs and customer satisfaction.
•Review and approve job tickets, time records, and ensure accurate documentation and billing.
•Handle escalated customer concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
•Assist in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of service technicians.
•Monitor service department KPIs such as revenue, gross margin, labor efficiency, and customer satisfaction scores.
•Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and best practices.

•Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Competence in using dispatch software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
•State of Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License (in good standing.)
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in residential HVAC service, with 3+ years of management or sales experience in the service industry (HVAC preferred.)
•Experience working within contracting, construction, or related service industries preferred.
•Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
•Ability to work in various environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, and confined spaces.
•Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
•Visual acuity to read documents, perform inspections, and assess equipment.
•Manual dexterity and physical ability to use tools and operate commercial service vehicles.
