We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled HVAC/R Field Service Supervisor / Lead Technician to oversee field operations, lead service teams, and perform complex installations, maintenance, and repairs of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. This role blends hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service, job site safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of field HVAC/R technicians. First line of technical support for the service technicians in the field.
- Coordinate daily work schedules, job assignments, and service calls.
- Conduct job site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and proper work procedures.
- Serve as the primary field liaison between technicians, dispatch, and management.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
- Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion within scope and budget.
- Assist in onboarding and evaluating new technicians.
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems (rooftop units, split systems, freezers, walk-in coolers, etc.).
- Install HVAC/R components and systems as per specifications and local codes.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and customer expectations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing service updates, repair recommendations, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Complete and review service reports, timesheets, and inventory logs accurately.
- Work with procurement to ensure parts and materials are available for field operations.
- Support sales and estimating teams with technical input and site visits when needed.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial HVAC/R field service, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).
- State HVAC license or certification (if required by jurisdiction).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, codes, and safety standards.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools, meters, and service software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends or on-call shifts.
