Job Summary
This entry level Human Resources Generalist manages business policies and procedures that cover all HR. Responsible for the administration of company benefit plans, talent management, training, and development. Current knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws.
Job Duties
•Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
•Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee and safety handbook, policies and procedures manual.
•Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
•Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
•Represents CROFT for any unemployment claims.
•Facilitates or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
•Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; writes job descriptions and places positions on job board site(s).
•Recruitment; attracting strong qualified candidates for CROFT positions.
•Maintains human resource information system records while compiling reports from the database.
•Manages annual open enrollment process from beginning to end. This includes ensuring employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions, counsel employee on benefit decisions for all levels of employees. Enroll employees with carriers (benefits) and process life status changes.
•Maintain records on each employee, including performance reviews, offer letters, disciplinary records, etc.
•Ensure full compliance with company policy and/or, but not limited to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as related to job function.
•Must consistently demonstrate the ability to independently produce positive business outcomes aligned with organizational strategic initiatives and goals.
•Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files; performs paper and system audits as necessary. Prepares and maintains employee files.
•Process new-hire, status change, and termination paperwork.
•Process and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA (If applicable).
•Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities. (If applicable)
•Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
•Represent CROFT and manage Workmen’s compensation claims
•Manage EEOC, FLSA, and all other federal claims.
•Manage and maintain commercial insurance/renewals.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Training/Experience
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management required; Master’s preferred.
Preferred License/Certification:
•Professional HR certifications (i.e., WorldatWork, AIRS, PHR/SPHR) desired
Experience:
•Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and other job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions.
•Ability to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner; remain detailed and organized; maintain confidentiality at all times.
•Employment relations experience, with the ability to adapt to the audience.
•Consistently demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to generating new ideas with the principles of continuous improvement.
•Detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize independently.
•Must have a valid state-issued Driver’s License as required to drive on company business.
