Brooks & Nelson’s client is seeking a Human Resources Generalist.
As the Human Resources Generalist, the successful candidate provides daily support to all sites with oversight of all aspects of employee life-cycle from recruitment, background, hiring and onboarding, orientation, development, discipline and disputes or investigations, coaching, performance appraisal, recognition, promotion or suitable lateral moves, and separation as further described below. This position routinely interacts with all employees and provides highly responsible administrative support.
- Oversight of all aspects of employee life-cycle from recruitment, background, hiring and onboarding, orientation, development, discipline and disputes or investigations, coaching, performance appraisal, recognition, promotion or suitable lateral moves, and separation of employment.
- Implement and oversee recruitment and retention strategies.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental supervisors and managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Day-to-day administrative functions related to all HR functions, including documentation and audit tracking (pre-employment, census, organizational charts, contact lists, etc.), position descriptions; onboarding packages, file management, assist with policy updates and dissemination.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Develop management tools and processes that help facilitate the Supervisor/Managers job such as position descriptions, orientation process, supervisor training.
- Complete required reports and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain confidential and sensitive information such as personnel files; ensure documents are current, complete and accurate.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
- Organize community outreach programs on an ongoing basis, including dissemination of communications into the community and coordinating special events to promote the Company and our management and staff.
- As requested, represent the Company at relevant events and activities, while building strong relationships with key community members.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law
- Coordinate the overflow of work for administrative needs.

- Minimum of 4-6 years of Human Resource (HR) experience and competent knowledge of HR/employment practices; mining or industrial environment preferred.
- College degree and/or human resources certification(s) preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills using MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
- SHRM-CP or PHR a plus
