Matcor Metal Fabrication is a North American Leader in the Fabrication industry with operations in Canada, and the USA. We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and other industrial sectors.
We are looking for a dynamic, proactive and organized Human Resources Coordinator to support our multi-site operations in Mississauga and Brampton. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, and working closely with the HR Generalist, this role is essential in maintaining consistent and effective HR support across three locations and will be involved in a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and health and safety support.
o Provide HR support across both Mississauga and Brampton locations; regular travel between sites is required.
o Coordinate hourly and salaried recruitment activities, post job ads, initiate background checks on candidates, schedule interviews, and lead onboarding sessions.
o Act as the first point of contact for general employee inquiries related to benefits, policies, etc., both in person and in HR Inbox to support issue resolution, and help foster a positive work culture.
o Promote employee engagement through regular walkarounds on the plant floor to build visibility and communication.
o Plan and coordinate company events and monthly engagement opportunities.
o Support the HR team with the Quality of Work Life (QWL) survey by assisting with logistics, rollout, documentation, and action plan progress.
o Provide administrative support for Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, including taking minutes, posting documentation, and maintaining records.
o Follow up with managers on outstanding corrective actions, ensure completion, and update the corrective action tracker with relevant details such as due dates and completion status.
o Notify the HR Generalist of overdue items, send reminders to responsible parties, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the tracker as the central source of truth for safety-related action items.
o Maintain accurate personnel files, manage documentation for job changes, leaves of absence, status updates, and other employee lifecycle events.
o Track attendance and ensure timely completion and storage of required HR forms.
o Prepare employment letters (e.g., confirmations, status changes, offers) in accordance with company standards.
o Prepare HR reports and assist the Generalist by inputting data for key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
o Collect and verify new hire documentation and enter new employees into ADP
o Submit required paperwork to the Payroll department and ensure timely processing
o Enroll new employees into the Sun Life Benefits plan.
o Coordinate training logistics across all sites (scheduling, attendance, materials, etc.)
o Maintain training records and certifications in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
o Track employee training completion and follow-up on outstanding requirements.
o Support the HR Generalist and Manger in rolling out development initiatives
o Assist in evaluating training effectiveness by gathering feedback and data from participants
