The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with VP – People and Culture. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, performance management, policy implementation, benefits administration, and employment law compliance.
- Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct recruitment efforts for all positions, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Handle team member relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Support performance management processes including annual reviews and goal setting.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Administer benefits programs including health, dental, disability, and retirement plans.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives to support organizational goals.

- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
- CHRP or CPHR designation (or working toward certification).
- Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits administration.
