The Human Resources Generalist implements policies, procedures, and programs to meet business needs. The HR Generalist manages the administration of employment, recruiting, retention, succession planning, compensation, problem resolution, employee relations, and the completion of all personnel transactions.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
•Develop and maintain Affirmative Action Plan; file EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
•Promote leadership effectiveness and compliance with HR policies and programs through coaching
•Use knowledge of various human resources functions including, recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations, to provide tactical HR support to customers
•Assist managers and employees with conflict resolution to ensure fairness, compliance and consistency in practices
•Provides coaching and guidance to managers in identifying and analyzing training and development needs of their employees including, but not limited to, HR processes, performance management, employee relations, employee development, compensation and succession planning
•Conduct thorough HR investigations
•Responsible for accuracy of data information entered and maintained in the HR Information System
•Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
•Partner with managers to create and update job descriptions
•Post and close job requisitions/Manage the applicant tracking system
•Administer background investigations and drug screens with administrative assistant; make final adjudication decisions
•Conduct and facilitate new-employee orientation
•Present Anti-Harassment, Business Code of Ethics, and other HR related training
•Process all HR transactions such as, new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, job classifications, terminations
•Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
•Must have a minimum of five (5) years previous experience in Human Resources field (This could include a combination of recruiting, employee relations, benefits, training, compensation, or labor relations)
•Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
•Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field required, or equivalent work experience
•Previous Human Resources compliance training a plus
•Bilingual Spanish preferred
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
•Must have excellent problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills
•Must have excellent time-management, and organizational skills with ability to work efficiently with close attention to detail
•Strong consultative, negotiation, verbal, listening and written communication skills are required
•Advanced knowledge of federal and state labor laws and other applicable employment laws (HIPPA, ADA, COBRA, FLSA, FMLA, and ERISA)
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
•Typical hours of work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
•Extended hours may be required as necessary
