HR Assistant
Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Salary: $45,000–$55,000 | Full-Time | On-Site
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company in the Farmington Hills area, seeking an HR Assistant to support both the Human Resources department and executive leadership. This role offers a balance of payroll, administrative, and employee-focused work in a professional and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Verify timecards, track attendance points, and manage PTO and leave records
•Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll (hourly and salaried)
•Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality
•Coordinate onboarding and support general HR communications
•Assist in planning employee events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives
•Provide administrative support to the President as needed
Must-Haves:
•1–2 years of administrative or HR-related experience in a professional setting
•Experience processing payroll (weekly and/or bi-weekly)
•Strong attention to detail—especially with time, attendance, and leave tracking
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
•Discretion with confidential employee information
•Clear, professional communication skills
•Ability to juggle multiple tasks independently
Preferred:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business
•Familiarity with FMLA and leave tracking
•Experience with payroll systems like DM Payroll or Attendance on Demand
•Event planning or employee engagement experience
•SHRM-CP or similar certification
•Experience supporting executive leadership
