It's an opportunity to have a positive impact on a diverse portfolio of legacy sites across North America, where your skills in Health, Safety, Environment, and Risk management will shape both strategy and on-the-ground execution. If you're looking for scope, growth, and purpose—read on.

The role in a nutshell

In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Health, Safety, Environment and Risk professionals, responsible for the implementation and subject matter expertise support to the operations at the North American Legacy Assets (NALA) portfolio of assets.

More specifically, you will be expected to:

Ensure the alignment to Glencore’s HSEC and Human Rights Strategy, through the implementation of Glencore’s policies, standards and procedures at our Legacy Assets;
Lead the implementation of, and adherence to, Glencore’s SafeWork Framework across the portfolio of assets, including our legacy operating sites and closure projects. This includes Glencore’s Fatal Hazard Protocols, Life-Saving Behaviours, Safety Standards and SafeWork Performance Expectations;
Work with other departments to ensure the implementation of the Glencore Health Standard;
Manage the implementation and ensure alignment with the Glencore Environment, Water, Closure Planning, Cultural Heritage, and Energy and Climate Change Standards;
Oversee the review and update of our Legacy Asset risk registers in alignment with the Glencore Enterprise Risk Management Standard;
Support the operations teams to ensure the sites meet the corporate expectations defined in the Glencore Security Standard.

As part of the management team, participate in the strategic planning for the Legacy Assets.

Do you have what it takes?

Minimum 15 years of related multi-discipline and management experience, preferably in HSE in a mining or other industrial operating environment.
A comprehensive understanding of HSE practices and applicable regulations across multiple North American jurisdictions;
Proficient in the application and governance of HSE best practices;
An in-depth understanding of HSE and Risk Management systems and processes and effective implementation and embedding thereof;
A demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety leadership;
Highly developed interpersonal and communication capabilities
A team player with effective collaboration and leadership skills;
Solid analytical skills, strategic and results-oriented;
Ability to communicate effectively and interact with stakeholders from various backgrounds;
Advanced computer skills with a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.);

Highly developed abilities in organization and time management.
