Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various HR functions, including recruitment, training, and employee relations. This role requires a strong understanding of HR processes and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
*This is a 1 year contract position (Subject to renewal).
Responsibilities:
Employee Life Cycle
•Talent acquisition, including job analysis, job description development, job postings, pre-screening, interview scheduling, recruitment and selection coordination, reference checks, and facilitating employment offers.
•End-to-end recruitment support for various positions, including collaborating with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, sourcing candidates, conducting initial screenings, and managing candidate pipelines.
•Onboarding, including pre-employment setup, first-day orientation, and new hire induction programs.
•Facilitating employee anniversary and milestone recognition and rewards.
•Employee separations, including offboarding process management, termination documentation, and conducting exit interviews.
HR Administration
•Monitor and ensure HR compliance with the Employment Standards Act and other applicable regulations in Alberta through daily HR operations.
•Prepare, issue, and manage employment agreements, amendments, and contracts.
•Process employee compensation and position changes accurately and in a timely manner.
•Independently manage end-to-end payroll processing using SAGE payroll system, including entering and verifying employee hours, calculating earnings and deductions, processing ROEs and T4s, and ensuring timely payroll submission.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including document creation, distribution, and secure filing in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
Employee Relations
•Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and requests, providing timely support and guidance.
•Assist managers in addressing team conflicts, employee disputes, performance issues, and conduct-related matters, including supporting the progressive discipline and corrective action process.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
•3-5 years’ experience in an HR focused role
•Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources
•Understanding of the Employment Standards and other HR related legislation and regulations.
Knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.*
•Some recruitment experience is required.
•Experience using HRIS would be considered a definite asset.

Pay: $40.00-$70.00 per hour
