Urban Accessories designs and manufactures high-quality, design-forward architectural castings and site furnishings. Since 1972, we’ve partnered with landscape architects, contractors, and municipalities to deliver bespoke solutions for public and private spaces across North America.
We’re hiring our first full-time HR & EHS Manager — a hands-on leader who can build our people operations and safety programs from the ground up. If you’re someone who thrives on creating structure, building relationships, and making a real impact, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a growing company.
What You’ll Do:
Human Resources:
•Oversee full-cycle HR: hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance reviews, and offboarding
•Manage employee benefits, leave administration, and HR compliance
•Partner with department leads on workforce planning and development
•Lead employee training programs and cultural initiatives that reflect our values of craftsmanship, accountability, and respect
•Build and maintain our HR policies, processes, and documentation from scratch
•Manage our HRIS system (Paychex)
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS):
•Own all EHS programs and compliance across our foundry, fabrication, and office operations
•Develop and enforce safety protocols, training, and reporting procedures in line with OSHA, L&I, and state/local regulations
•Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
•Oversee environmental compliance, including hazardous materials handling, waste management, and sustainability initiatives
•Lead safety committee meetings and coordinate with insurance and regulatory agencies as needed
Who You Are:
•5+ years of experience in HR and/or EHS roles, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment
•Strong understanding of Washington labor laws, OSHA, and L&I regulations
•Excited to build systems and processes from the ground up — not afraid to roll up your sleeves and figure things out
•Clear communicator who builds trust at all levels of the organization
•Comfortable balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day support
Nice to Have:
•SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or equivalent HR certification
•OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety credentials
•Experience with environmental compliance or sustainability programs
•Familiarity with Paychex or other HRIS platforms
•Spanish fluency — helpful for communicating with a diverse workforce
