Position Overview
Slacan is looking for someone to join our Human Resources team. Your internship will provide experience primarily in Recruitment & Selection, Administration, Labor Relations, and Organizational Behavior.
HR Intern will provide a wide range of administrative and professional support on human resources processes, policies, projects, and information systems. This role will provide support to the HR team.
Responsibilities
•Major project: Engage with vocational schools as part of recruitment and selection strategies for hourly employee hiring.
•Archive and organize HR data and files.
•Maintain and standardize electronic and hard copy employee files.
•Create correspondence and reports and provide administrative support to the HR Department.
•Assist with recruiting activities such as scheduling interviews, candidate follow up, orientation and onboarding.
•Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals.
•Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
•Working towards a degree/diploma in Human Resources or other relevant discipline.
•Knowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, WSIB Regulations, and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human Resources.
Skills
•Excellent computer skills - MS Office, Word, Excel etc. (HRIS experience an asset).
•High attention to detail and data accuracy with strict adherence to policies and handling of confidential information.
•Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
•Quick learner and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
