High Voltage Specialist Lead

The High Voltage Specialist Lead is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems across MN8 Energy’s renewable energy projects. This role ensures that all high-voltage systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while adhering to industry standards and regulations. The Supervisor will lead a team of skilled technicians and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to maintain optimal performance.

- Lead and mentor a team of high-voltage technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting, technical procedures and safety protocols.

- Ensure the timely response to system outages and coordinate corrective actions to include relay event and fault analysis

- Supervise the maintenance and operation of high-voltage systems, including transformers, switchgear, relays and substations.

- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team is updated on industry best practices.

- Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, including OSHA and NFPA 70E standards.

- Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards.

- Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for high-voltage equipment.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system performance and integrate new technologies.

- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance reports.

- Provide regular updates to leadership on system performance and team productivity

- Travel 75%

Our ideal candidate will have:

- Experience in renewable energy projects is highly desirable.

- Familiarity with SEL, relays and software

- Deep understanding of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and electrical schematics.

- Familiarity with energy storage and renewable energy systems is a plus.

In California, the hourly wage for this position at the time of this posting ranges from $50/hr to $60/hr. Within that range, individual compensation varies based on job-related factors including but not limited to experience and training, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
