High Angle Rescue Technician & Ops

Role and Responsibilities

A High Angle Rescue Technician is responsible for performing rescue operations in elevated or difficult terrain.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow all rules and regulations as per the OH&S Code, Trojan Safety guidelines, and client specific codes of practice

Demonstrate the ability to educate and coach safety watch personnel on all safety watch duties/responsibilities

Set up and test communications and alarm systems

Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test. Must have the ability to set up and dismantle both breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.

Lead, demonstrate and encourage a positive safety culture, where safety is an integral element to every task.

Must have the ability to effectively work as a team member during rescue situations and critical tasks. This includes the ability to problem solve, utilizing interpersonal skills while maintaining a level of professionalism at all times

Physical Traits

A High Angle Rescue Technician must:

Maintain a reasonable level of fitness;

Be able to stand for extended periods of time and work in adverse weather conditions;

Be able to work several consecutive shifts, both day and night shifts;

Be able to physically perform a rescue of a worker;

Have normal color vision to distinguish color coded safety systems.

Qualifications

H2S Safety Supervisory experience an asset

Industrial Fire Fighter experience an asset

High Angle Rescue Technician Ticket

Valid Class 5 Drivers License & Current (within 3 months) Drivers Abstract

Current H2S Alive Ticket

Current First Aid Ticket

CSO ( Common Safety Orientation )

This is a safety sensitive position and the candidate must complete and clear a pre-employment drug test.

You will be asked to provide a copy of all current certificates before hiring will take place.
