The Equipment Operator is responsible for running Dozer and Excavator and other equipment as need. He or she will work diligently to support these efforts while maintaining focus on quality control, costing elements, and maintaining effective and efficient utilization of company resources. The Equipment Operator will support positive project progression on existing projects and maintain alignment with corporate strategy and commitment to overall fiscal objectives and demonstrate commitment to the goals of the organization.
Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately
Provides senior leadership for environmental, safety, health, injury/accident and fire prevention on the project
Must have experience with construction in the areas of earthwork
Work closely with other discipline superintendents and coordinate efforts and activities to meet the overall project requirements
Ensure reporting routines are fulfilled each day or as required
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, familiarity with industry practices
Knowledge of control measures required in a high rainfall environment
Must have experience with construction in the areas of earthwork, gradiing, mass excavation, site utilities, mositure conditioning
Experience in job planning, safety, risk management and basic human resources activities necessary to effectively manage
Physical & Environmental Demands will include but not be limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting of upper body, and manual dexterity for operation of construction and construction-related machines/equipment. Vision to include: near, far, visual accommodation, color, and depth perception. Must be able to hear sound(s) clearly and distinctly to effectively receive, understand and reiterate information. Lifting and manual labor is required, and often in extreme environmental conditions.
Prefer successful candidate to possess a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred. In addition, he/she should have an excellent driving record in order to drive company owned or leased vehicles.
