Heavy Equipment Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supervise rack crew.

- Operate Hydro-hand or forklift as required.

- Loads and unloads all trucks entering the yard in accordance with Yard Work Order.

- Performs rack moves in the yard in accordance with Yard Work Order.

- Verifies that all pipe is properly identified, handled, racked, counted and tallied (when required).

- Verifies general condition of all pipe received (i.e., proper loading, evidence of shipping damage, outward appearance or coating) and notes any problems found on the Yard Work Order and informs the office personnel of the findings.

- Responsible for daily upkeep and maintenance of their assigned Hydro-hand and/or forklift.

- Responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the yard truck assigned to their crew.

- Responsible for the checking out and return of all equipment and materials needed to perform a job from the warehouse.

- Assure that company safety policies and procedures are being followed.

- Documents Yard Work Order and returns it to the originating coordinator.

- Subject to on-call rotation for weekend and after regular hours loadout/receiving/rack moves of pipe as required by our customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

- Valid Driver’s License

- 1 - 2 years forklift experience

- Knowledge of hydraulic lift machines

- Previous pipe yard experience

- Good communication skills

Preferred:

- Experience operating a hydro hand

- Previous supervisory experience

- High School Diploma or equivalent
