Equipment Operatorto join our Fort McMurray Project team and be an integral part of our future success. These projects are
based on our Suncor Base Plant location.This is a
project-basedposition that will start with a 10-day on, 4-day
offrotation schedule, but
may change based on project needs. Accommodation may be provided. Strong consideration given to Local Fort McMurray Residents.
Key Responsibilities:
The Heavy Equipment Operator must have the ability to work in a safe and cautious manner inside a live processing plant, which contains high congestion and tight working conditions. They will be operating a 200 Series CAT (rubber tired) Excavator, 323 skid steer, and Front-End Loader with attachments: 4 cu. yard bucket, 8 ft. forks, 10 ft. jib. The HEO will be operating in live plant areas; safety requirements must be known and adhered to.
- Operate Loader and excavator to finish quality, in a safe and efficient manner
- Dig or excavate trenches to the specified depth, width, and angle for installation
- Check equipment before use to ensure it is safe & in proper working condition
- Maintain the worksite in a clean and tidy condition
- Perform other duties as assigned by the lead hand or site supervisor
- Handling materials, mats, piping, and valves. Hoisting and lifting experience
- Perform other duties as assigned by the lead hand or site supervisor
- Min 3 years as an Equipment Operator; preferred water and sewer/excavation and piping experience
- Ability to work accurately to required grades and specifications
- Must have proven ability to work in tight spots
- Mechanically inclined with strong organizational & problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather
- Strong consideration given to Local Fort McMurray Residents
