Berry Iron and Metal Company is now hiring Equipment Operators to be based out the Chilhowie, VA office.

Tasks include:

- Operation of Mobile Equipment including material handlers, excavators, shears, skid-steers, and forklifts.

- Performing daily maintenance, greasing, filling out check sheets, and general housekeeping with the machines.

- General Labor as required.

Qualifications

Individual must have significant experience operating large excavators, shears, or material handlers. Individuals lacking heavy equipment experience need not apply. CDL or driving experience is a plus.

Ability to: lift and carry up to 100 pounds occasionally; crouch or bend at the knees frequently when sorting or picking; climbing to reach work site occasionally; stoop or bend at the waist frequently; reach at arms-length frequently and/or overhead frequently; twist and turn at the neck and trunk frequently; walk frequently on uneven ground; handle and grasp materials and tools continually; push and pull frequently when sweeping or cleaning; communicate by speech and hearing continually. Visual acuity needed for close detail work.
