As a Heavy Equipment Operator, this position requires strong operation skills, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a crane while supporting the overall operations.
- Safely operating various equipment to lift, move, and position metal materials within the facility and yard
- You may be asked to operator the following heavy equipment: Crane, Shear, Loader, Forklift
- Lifting and transporting metal materials using attachments such as magnets or grapples, and safely place them in designated areas or processing equipment
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and load security
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and other personnel
- During any down time, you may be required to perform general yard maintenance and perform cleaning around the yard
- You have an operator certification and/or experience operating heavy equipment
- You have a minimum of 1 years experience operating in a heavy industrial setting
- You have attention to detail and the ability to accurately position and handle different types of metal materials
- You are comfortable using various crane attachments, such as magnets or grapples
- You have familiarity with metal recycling processes, materials, and specifications
- You are comfortable working outdoors and in a heavy industrial environment
