Position Summary
The
Heavy Equipment Lube Techniciansupports the maintenance team by performing routine preventative services on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles. This includes oil changes, inspections, fluid checks, and basic filter replacements. The role helps ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine oil changes and lubrication services on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear, damage, leaks, worn belts, and tire conditions
- Check and top off all fluid levels including coolant, transmission, power steering, and windshield washer fluid
- Replace air, fuel, and cabin filters as needed
- Conduct basic visual inspections to identify safety or maintenance concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper disposal of used oil, filters, and parts
- Adhere to all company and industry safety protocols and procedures
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and technicians regarding additional service needs or potential repairs
- Assist mechanics and technicians with maintenance tasks and repairs as assigned
- Stay informed about basic heavy equipment trends and service practices
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
- Prior experience in heavy equipment or commercial vehicle maintenance preferred
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and reporting a plus
- Oil and gas industry maintenance experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Willingness to learn and apply new maintenance techniques and technologies
- Physical stamina to lift, bend, and perform hands-on maintenance work
- Positive attitude and willingness to support a team environment
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area daily
- Demonstrate proactive communication with team members and supervisors regarding issues, delays, or additional repair needs
- Exposure to moving machinery, outdoor weather, diesel fumes, chemicals, and moderate to loud noise
- Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling
- Requires use of respirators, safety gear, and visual precision for various tasks
- Must be able to clearly communicate in team meetings and field settings
