Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the leadership team, you’ll develop and own the voice of customer, translating it into a compelling product vision and strategy, and forge powerful partnerships to unlock new commercial opportunities.


Responsibilities:


Strategy & Planning:

- Develop and execute a strategic market plan that results in an ecosystem of stakeholders critical to FeX’s success, including customer pre-sales, long term commitments, and demonstrated market needs.

- Own and represent the voice of customer, gathering insights across multiple stakeholders.

- Develop and own the product vision that aligns with the overarching business strategy and roadmap, collaborating with the leadership and technical team toward its realization.

- Working with CTO, translate customer needs into clear product requirements, prioritizing features and product releases in time to maximize value from the technical team’s execution of critical features first.

- Develop customer-facing collateral and messaging articulating the value of FeX’s technology and roadmap.

- Shape and maintain a business development process and pipeline aligned with FeX’s growth trajectory.

- Track industry and regulatory trends as well as competitive and substitute products, using insights to inform product and market positioning.


Customer Execution:

- Fill pipeline with qualified leads, leveraging your own network and FeX’s community of advisors.

- Recruit and manage the community of Business Development advisors to support lead generation.

- Own and nurture relationships with long-term key customer and industry decision-makers, advancing qualified leads from first meeting to close.

- Secure consortium members and advance sales for both pilot projects and commercial products.

- Lead techno-economic and equipment sizing studies to demonstrate customer value.

- Lead or support execution of pilot projects as assigned, ensuring customer success and learning.

- Collaborate with engineering team to ensure customer requirements are met in design and delivery.


Additional Responsibilities:

- Bring FeX’s brand to life at industry conferences, trade shows, and events, positioning our leadership.

- Execute marketing approaches for pilot and commercial products to maximize saleability.

- Establish metrics and feedback loops to continuously improve BD and product processes.

- Act as subject matter expert for commercial contracts and negotiations, supporting others as needed.


About you:

You are motivated by the chance to empower industry decarbonization with iron energy, and you align strongly with our culture of impact, care, and trust. You thrive in collaborative, purpose-driven environments, where respect, learning, and customer and planetary impact come first.

- 5-10+ years of experience in business development, product management, or related roles.

- Proven ability to scale from first sales through commercial growth.

- Outgoing and visionary – able to inspire, energize others, and build community in industry settings.

- Empathic, curious, and product-minded – skilled at synthesizing customer pains into product requirements.

- Proven ability to succeed in co-creation and collaboration with both customers, internal, and partner teams.

- Self-managed and proactive – able to independently build, own, and execute on commitments.

- Experienced in end-to-end BD, managing pipeline from lead generation through to closing.

- Strong awareness of industrial and/or remote energy markets in North America and global context.

- Well-connected – with an existing network in industrial and energy markets (remote industry an asset).

- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

- Analytical ability to conduct techno-economic studies and link solution value to customer needs.

: North America (remote/hybrid), with flexibility for collaboration in Montreal.
