Job Summary:
•The Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck to move material between plants, warehouses, facilities, docks, or the mine in a safe manner obeying all rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation including maintaining a current valid Georgia Class A Driver’s License.
Essential Functions:
•Operate truck in a safe and efficient manner.
•Performs pre-operational equipment checks and monitors truck performance and gauges during operation.
•Fuels and performs routine maintenance.
•Loads truck while staying in compliance with environmental and safety guidelines and regulations
•Utilizes hand tools to make minor equipment adjustments.
•Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.
•Follows all company, state and federal safety policies, rules and regulations rules and regulations.
•Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions), AIQ processes, and similar documents.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
•Must act in accordance with WE CARE, participates in improvement activities.
•Operate other heavy equipment utilized at the plant and in the mine after proper, documented training (excavator, tractor, dozers, haul trucks, backhoes, front-end loader, etc.)
•Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, process, and procedures to uphold values and inherent to Oil-Dri.
Experience:
•Possess at least two years of driving experience
•Possess a Class B Driver’s License, Class is preferred.
•Possess clean DMV record—no points in last three years.
•Basic mechanical knowledge.
•Ability to operate and control all necessary equipment to perform job functions.
•Knowledge of hand tools.
•Class A Drivers license Hazmat certification desirable.
•Ability to safely operate trucks and heavy equipment.
•Physical endurance to withstand heavy physical labor occasionally required of position.
•Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
•Must meet all physical requirements of the position.
