EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
•Operate heavy equipment such as loader and excavator to dig pits
•Load aggregate material onto haul trucks
•Manage fuel and oil inventory for equipment, maintain tanks daily
•Perform routine inspections on equipment, complete minor equipment maintenance, submit work orders as needed
•Utilize various hand tools as needed to complete daily job requirements
•Help maintain a hazard free work environment by assisting in housekeeping and maintenance duties
•Work with team members to complete operational priorities of the day, cross train in other job positions as needed
•Keep current on safety inspections such as MSHA regulations and BURNCO safety policies
•Other duties as assigned
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The primary areas of responsibility include:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Broad knowledge of operating heavy equipment
•Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches/chains and various safety devices
•Self motivated and able to work effectively in small teams
•Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
•Ability to work 12 hour shifts and weekends
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Experience working in aggregate industry a plus
•Experience operating heavy equipment in a plant environment preferred
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
•Less than 15% - as needed

•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions.
•Employee constantly sits, utilizes manual dexterity, uses fine motor skills, gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near/far vision and requires active hearing/listening.
•Employee occasionally stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, bends, reaches, lifts to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, pushes and pulls.
•Employee is regularly exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials.
•Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE requirements needed for special jobs such as welding, repairing, etc.
