The principal objective of the Grounds Maintenance Technician position is to maintain the grounds of the property by utilizing and operating various maintenance equipment including, but not limited to the water truck, the lot sweeper, and the floor scrubber.

- Operate a Company owned street sweeper machine and a company owned water truck to maintain the roads and driveways (dirt and asphalt) at Oscar Winski Company properties, including but not limited to the main location at 2407 N. 9th Street, Lafayette, IN.
- Operate a Company owned floor scrubbing machine to maintain the concrete floors and aisles of our indoor production facilities, including but not limited to those located in our 9th Street Metals Recycling Warehouse, the LSA Lafayette Production Warehouse, and the Blue Arrow Maintenance Shop.
- Maintain wash bay with power washer, change out trash at our truck maintenance facility and all housekeeping in the wash bay.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and service of the street sweeper, floor scrubber, and water truck equipment and parts.
- Assist maintenance personnel with various tasks, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to parts delivery and pickup, introductory industrial maintenance tasks during special projects, snowplow, snow removal and salt spreader.
- Provide fire watch for yard torchers
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 6 months prior experience in a similar role or field.
- Previous light maintenance experience required.
- A Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record with the ability to be insured by the company’s insurance policies.
- Ability to perform general light maintenance tasks using common maintenance equipment.
- Ability to service maintenance equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently with little to no constant supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to effectively manage competing demands on time and regular changes to schedule and task lists.
- Ability to be always alert and aware of surroundings to ensure safety of self and others.
- Knowledge, understanding, and ability to adhere to safety rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to be productive and professional.
- Ability to correctly and professionally use company provided communication equipment and PPE.
- Must be able to pass respirator testing.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 Year prior industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Past snow removal experience preferred.
