Job Overview
Sterling Ethanol is seeking a dedicated and responsible Grain Receiver/Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced ethanol production facility. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety at Sterling Ethanol is required. Being able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, contractors, customers, and suppliers is required. The Grain Receiver/Operator loads Wet Distillers Grain trucks, Corn Oil trucks and railcars, and Ethanol Railcars on a daily basis. They also are responsible for maintaining our corn receiving areas and cleanup around the plant. The receiver/operator will be responsible for doing preventative maintenance checks on all equipment and machinery used on a daily basis. Rare, but occasional travel may be required to our Yuma Ethanol facility. All travel expenses are fully paid for.
The Grains Receiver/Operator must have weekend availability. The work week is 4 - 10 hour days including one weekend day. Working holidays and some overtime may be required at times.
Must pass a drug test including Marijuana.
- Make sure all grains equipment is operated correctly.
- Assist as needed with unload of incoming corn trucks or railcars.
- Direct trucks to proper location for loading/unloading.
- Monitor processes carefully to ensure efficient transfer of product.
- Clean receiving and loading areas, scales, plant grounds, equipment and other items as required.
- Maintain work areas by sweeping, shoveling, squeegee and other methods as required.
- Perform Preventative maintenance and inspection sign off sheets.
- Properly inspect, clean, grease heavy equipment and other machinery.
- Loading out WDG feed trucks, Ethanol, and corn oil railcars.
- Sample product from trucks and railcars and seal/inspect following completion.
- Complete related records of product transfer and inspection to ensure accurate records.
- Accuracy in both sampling of product and record keeping is required.
- Sterling Ethanol desires an ability and willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities.
- Employees need to follow written and oral instructions well
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures is required.
- Logical problem solving ability is strongly desired.
- Proficient in operating forklifts, loaders and other equipment is desired.
- Ability to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and lift 40 pounds as required.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
