Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Ventilation & Infrastructure Engineer I/II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the design and installation of underground infrastructure throughout the Goldstrike Underground operations. The Ventilation & Infrastructure Engineer reports to the Senior Engineer – Ventilation & Infrastructure, working closely with all planning horizons to ensure the functionality of a robust utility and infrastructure network (ventilation, paste, materials handling, water, compressed air, discharge, power, paste, communications, etc.).

Responsibilities:
•Plan, review and monitor ventilation network utilizing Deswik, Ventsim and through underground inspections / vent surveys.
•Review existing infrastructure for age, functionality and maintenance requirements through underground mapping and testing.
•Develop and maintain infrastructure standards based on equipment specifications, use, and life of development.
•Develop and maintain infrastructure audits and maintenance schedules to enable the continued monitoring of installed infrastructure through collaboration with the Fixed Maintenance department.
•Review and coordinate the requirements for proposed infrastructure and determine mass balance, impacts and shortfalls based on the Medium and Long-Term Plan.
•Communicate and interact with all relevant stakeholders throughout the work to ensure that outcomes are satisfactorily delivered, and objectives are met.
•In all works, ensure plans, budgets and schedules are sufficiently developed; management systems and processes are adequately applied; and personal attention is appropriately directed to ensure that important deadlines are met, and budget constraints are adhered to.
•Seek development opportunities in support of this role.
Qualifications:
•A bachelor-degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering, or related field.
•2 – 3 years of industry experience is preferred but not required.
•Experience working with ventilation and/or paste backfill is preferred but not required.
•A basic knowledge of underground mine infrastructure systems including air, water and discharge in addition to underground electrical and communications infrastructure.
•An understanding of mine infrastructure requirements (air, water, power, discharge, ventilation, refuge, etc.)
•Exposure to Deswik and Ventsim applications considered advantageous
•Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles and a demonstrated understanding of mining regulations.
•Strong presentation and verbal skills. Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in both written and verbal forms across all levels of the organization in a clear manner.
•Excellent time and productivity management skills.
•Proven ability to perform in a safe and efficient manner.
