As geotechnical engineer, you will perform tasks and provide services in the field of geotechnical engineering. You will be responsible for performing geotechnical site investigations and analyses, preparing and reviewing deliverables and reviewing design and construction, within the context of the overall management objectives set for each project.

- Carry out the technical management and direction of geotechnical site investigations, supervise activities in the context of these investigations, evaluate materials in the laboratory and prepare and review technical reports
- Review and supervise civil and geotechnical construction activities
- Conduct field evaluations and assess risks of landslides, perform mapping and produce reports
- Manage geotechnical instruments: prescribe, supervise installation, monitor and record results
- Analyze geotechnical characteristics, including slope stability, compacting, seepage, deformation and other characteristics
- Conduct soil mechanics and classification activities, assess slope stability and design reinforcing and supporting structures
- Ensure the technical quality of deliverables, as a member of multidisciplinary project teams
- Collaborate and participate in technical discussions with team members and clients
- Participate in the process of preparing and presenting proposals
- Travel to project sites within Canada, and occasionally overseas

- B.Sc. or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Technical Geology or Civil Engineering, with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Five or more years of relevant professional experience in geotechnical engineering
- Strong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, technical-writing experience and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a team
- Mastery of geotechnical design software (FLAC, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W); other geotechnical software an asset
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
