BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is currently looking for a Geospatial Analyst to support the 9AF (AFCENT)/A4 Installations Directorate mission in the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility (AOR) and Shaw Air Force Base (AFB), SC. This is a full-time onsite position at Shaw AFB, SC.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
•Collect, create, process, edit, review, or otherwise manage geospatial data (raster, vector, and metadata) utilizing Geospatial Information System (GIS) and/or Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
•Responsible for the maintenance, quality assurance, and data integrity of the Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure (DISDI) Common Installation Picture (CIP) and DAF CIP in accordance with applicable guidance from AFCEC.
•Manage, protect, and make discoverable all installation geospatial data integrated through the GeoBase Program.
•Provide digital modeling support to include creation of digital terrain models, digital evaluation models, etc.
•Provide installation geospatial data visualization, analysis, and business requirement integration services.
•Assist with development, maintenance, and quality assurance of geospatial data in accordance with the applicable guidance per relevant data schema owners and requirement owners.
•Develop site plans for bed down of Personnel, Equipment, Facilities, aircraft or any other assets as required by the program manager utilizing GIS/CAD software and current GeoExPT module.
•Provide guidance and support to data owners regarding Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) data maintenance, services, products, and capabilities.
•Provide appropriate technical or procedural support to ensure successful use of geospatial technologies.
•Ensure compliance with the latest DAF IGI&S Data Model as established by AFCEC.
•Support the DAF GeoBase Program office IAW AFI 32-10112 Chapter 3.
•Ensure geospatial data captured, created, processed, and edited is delivered in one or more acceptable electronic formats such as GIS format (e.g., ESRI format) and/or Computer Aided Design (CAD) format (e.g., AutoCAD format) and conforms to the DISDI Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE).
•Support AFCENT’s Geospatial program for 5 Air Expeditionary Wings (AEWs), AFCENT program managers, and additional locations as required IAW AFI 32-10112.
•Coordinate with AEW Expeditionary Geospatial Managers (EGMs) from each of the primary AEWs.
•Communicates program requirements, updates, changes, data calls, etc. to EGMs as required.
•Perform monthly AEW Data Call and quality review of site geospatial data.
•Deliver an updated version of the geodatabase in the appropriate format with any necessary edits, corrections, and/or recommendations to the site EGM within 5 calendar days and send a copy of the geodatabase to the AFCEC POC after receiving data from a site EGM.
•Support the AFCENT Real Property Program Manager as required. Key Qualifications
Key Qualifications
•U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Government Security Clearance (NACI) is required.
•Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
•Availability/Ability to travel to the AFCENT AOR installations listed above.
•Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong briefing skills and the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
•Self-Starter: Highly motivated and capable of effectively operating as a member of an engineering or joint discipline team with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously
Experience & Education
•Two (2) years of experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or 3E5X1 AFSC with 4 years of experience is required.
•Experience and working knowledge of SIPR is required.
•Experience and working knowledge of the following programs within the last three (3) years: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.
•Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Geospatial technology, or related field from ABET/ETAC accredited program is required.

• Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
• Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
