Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to join our Houston-based team. The ideal candidate will have strong field service experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or in a small team environment. This role includes both mechanical and electrical work on standby generator systems running on diesel and natural gas.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform comprehensive diagnostics, service, and repairs on standby generators (diesel and natural gas).
•Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure reliability and performance.
•Start up, test, and run load bank tests on generator systems.
•Troubleshoot and repair generator components including alternators, control panels, transfer switches, wiring, batteries, and more.
•Disassemble, inspect, analyze failures, and rebuild engines with technical accuracy.
•Identify root causes of issues and execute effective corrective actions.
•Complete on-site repairs and maintenance independently or as part of a small team.
•Communicate clearly with customers and document all service work in our system.
•Report parts and materials used for job costing and inventory management.
Qualifications
•At least 5 years of generator maintenance and repair experience.
•Strong working knowledge of generator systems, including diesel and natural gas units.
•Experience with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
•Familiarity with DC/AC voltage equipment and electrical components.
•Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
•Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
•Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs. frequently.
•Generator certifications or technical degree in a related field preferred.
•Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
•Must pass MVR check, drug and alcohol screening, and background check.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
