Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to join our Houston-based team. The ideal candidate will have strong field service experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or in a small team environment. This role includes both mechanical and electrical work on standby generator systems running on diesel and natural gas.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Perform comprehensive diagnostics, service, and repairs on standby generators (diesel and natural gas).

•

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure reliability and performance.

•

Start up, test, and run load bank tests on generator systems.

•

Troubleshoot and repair generator components including alternators, control panels, transfer switches, wiring, batteries, and more.

•

Disassemble, inspect, analyze failures, and rebuild engines with technical accuracy.

•

Identify root causes of issues and execute effective corrective actions.

•

Complete on-site repairs and maintenance independently or as part of a small team.

•

Communicate clearly with customers and document all service work in our system.

•

Report parts and materials used for job costing and inventory management.

Qualifications

•

At least 5 years of generator maintenance and repair experience.

•

Strong working knowledge of generator systems, including diesel and natural gas units.

•

Experience with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

•

Familiarity with DC/AC voltage equipment and electrical components.

•

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

•

Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

•

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

•

Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs. frequently.

•

Generator certifications or technical degree in a related field preferred.

•

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

•

Must pass MVR check, drug and alcohol screening, and background check.
