Generator Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Generator Specialist is responsible for the installation of industrial generators of all makes and models and a variety of sizes, troubleshoots commercial and industrial diesel/natural gas generators, including automatic transfer switches, batteries and load-bank testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Install generators based on accepted Load Calc information.

- Run load bank tests on natural gas and propane generators.

- Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing.

- Perform voltage changes on generators based on requirements.

- Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and voltage regulators.

- Assist in preparing generators for installation, as needed.

- Assist with warehouse organization, parts deliveries, etc.

- Plan, coordinate and execute work safely and effectively.

- Keep detailed and accurate records of installations.

- Provide timely and responsive customer service.

- Follow all safety guidelines related to operating and maintenance of high-voltage equipment.

- Other duties related to position, as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- High School Diploma or GED

- Prior electrical experience preferred

- Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations

- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures

- Ability to work independently

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Valid state issued driver's license
