General Utility Worker L1-2 Steam Distribution

Overview

The candidate for this position must be interested in qualifying as a Mechanic A at the East River Steam Station. The nature of this job requires an individual to have the ability to perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance work. Knowledge and skill are required in, but not limited to, the use of hand and power tools, the performance of standard maintenance functions, and the application of safe work practices. The selected candidate must be able to work a rotating shift and overtime and will acquire NYS/NYC Asbestos Handler's License within one year from placement in the department. Please note that in order to qualify for this position, candidates must successfully complete written test, interview and DOT Medical Exam.
