The General Manager of Operation will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
· Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
· Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
· Plans and organizes daily activities related to operations
· Understanding of Logistics as it pertains to inter-provincial shipping
· Measures productivity by analyzing performance data and activity reports
· Coordinates with other support departments such as Human Resources, and the Order Desk to ensure successful production operations
· Determines labour needs to meet production goals
· Assists with budget preparation for operations unit
· Assists with, or prepares and updates, organization operations manual and policies
· Ensure plant inspections, preventative maintenance plans are utilized
· Standard operating procedures – provide input and ensure execution of SOP’s
· Create long-term plans and initiatives to accomplish company goals efficiently
· Ensure training standards are designed and implemented
· Developing and implementing strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated
· Identifying problems and coming up with effective solutions quickly
· Extensive knowledge of operations and production management
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
· Strong skills in budget development and oversight
· Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications
· Bachelors degree in Business Management, Business Administration or related field
