We seek an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our Portage location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, project management, and team leadership. This role is crucial in overseeing the P&L, sales, and operations, ensuring project delivery within budget and on schedule, and driving growth and innovation in our services.
· Manage and mentor a diverse team of electrical managers, estimators, electricians, technicians, and support staff.
· Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration and professional development.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
· Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve branch business growth plans.
· Identify new business opportunities and market trends.
· Collaborate with senior management to align the branch’s goals with the company's strategy.
· Work with project managers to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical projects from inception to completion.
· Ensure projects adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth.
· Identify new business opportunities and market trends.
· Collaborate with senior management to align the branch’s goals with the company's strategy.
· Prepare and manage budgets for projects and branch operations.
· Allocate resources effectively to optimize project performance and meet financial targets.
· Prepare and present regular reports on performance and key metrics.
· Analyze data and identify trends to inform decision-making.
· Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
· Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs for the team.
· 10+ years of relevant experience within the contracting, engineering, or professional services industry with significant exposure to large commercial and industrial projects
· Strong financial acumen and understanding of project accounting
· Experience with full operational responsibility, including leading teams of people responsible for the Get Work, Do Work, and Keep Score of the business
· Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving/decision-making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions
· Proven understanding of strategic planning, project scheduling, financial reporting, and development of performance metrics
· Ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines
· Commitment to improving productivity, customer experience, and quality of work
· Experience leading, building, and optimizing a team
· Must have the highest level of ethical standards and exercise exceptional judgement in all circumstances
· Must be creative, imaginative, positive, and self-motivated

· Exceptional problem-solving skills when facing financial and management challenges
· Excellent computer and technical skills (Microsoft Office, Google, CRM Software)
