General Labor - Commercial Construction

Mako Industries is seeking reliable and hardworking General Laborers to assist with a variety of tasks on commercial construction sites. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Duties will vary daily based on project needs and will support skilled tradespeople and site supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform general site cleanup including debris removal, sweeping, and organizing materials.

- Load and unload building materials and distribute them to the appropriate locations on-site.

- Operate basic hand and power tools as required.

- Assist skilled trades (e.g., HVAC, electricians, plumbers) with tasks as directed.

- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Support delivery and setup of construction materials and equipment.

- Handle demolition tasks including tearing down walls, removing fixtures, and hauling waste.

- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and prepare job sites for construction activities.

- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications:

- Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required.

- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.

- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is a plus.

- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.

- Must be punctual, reliable, and a team player.

- OSHA 10/30 Certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Working Conditions:

- Outdoor/indoor construction environments with exposure to noise, dust, and weather.

- Work hours may vary based on project deadlines and site needs, including occasional overtime or weekend shifts.
