Essential Duties Of The Extrusions Utility Worker
•Load aluminum shapes onto steel racks as instructed by Supervisor and Saw Operator
•Follow material stacking specs to ensure product is loaded properly and defects are avoided
•Keep empty racks prepped and prepared for loading
•Use basic hand tools and a manual strapping tool throughout the shift
•Ensure all saw chips are removed from extrusions with air guns provided
•May work as a “Middleman” depending on the extrusion press assigned to you, this entails
helping the Stretcher Operators move long pieces of aluminum across the cooling table
•Keep work area clean throughout the shift, when production is slow, or extrusion press is under
maintenance
•Move metal product and/or materials/racks manually as required
•May learn specific extrusion positions to become cross trained and fill in when necessary
•Comply with Company policies including but not limited to all safety policies
Requirements Of The Extrusions Utility Worker
•Must be 18 years of age to work in the plant
•Must be able to work at a steady pace to keep up with material flow
•Should know how to read a Tape Measure or can be trained/coached to learn how to read
measurements
•Must follow all Extrusion Department procedures and guidelines
•Must be able to work OT depending on production needs
•Must be willing to work in other departments as needed
•Must have ability to read and understand basic instructions (Spanish instructions are provided
as needed)
•Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
•Should have average math skills as this position loads material into racks in sets/rows
•Must have good attendance – show up for work every day you are scheduled.
•Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This
includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.
