Gas Turbine Product Managers are accountable for the overall Health (Durability) and Longevity (TBO) of their product models throughout their lifecycle. As such, they are considered the best single point of contact for their product.
Product Managers are data-driven and use Key Performance Indicators, Durability Road Maps and Product Roadmaps to set product requirements and enterprise priority for Design Engineering and supporting functions to improve product competitiveness, performance, durability, reliability, availability and cost.
Product Managers co-chair the cross-functional Product Support Teams with their co-leads: the Product Support Managers in Customer Services-Technical Services. They will participate regularly in key internal meetings including the Quality Council, Product Policy Board, Quality & Operations Planning, the Product and Turbine Strategy Teams, the Priority Review Boards, Durability Reviews, Test Success, Failure Analysis and Root Cause Meetings. They also participate in Customer-facing Meetings including Alliances, Failure Review, Sales Support and the Solar Turbines Owners Conference.
They should have competencies in strategic thinking and business acumen combined with strong leadership and communication skills. They should also be process focused and possess a wide range of influencing skills.
Applicants should have the ability to lead and coordinate teams with a visionary mindset to find the best enterprise solution for the Product, our Customers and Solar.
Some domestic and international travel may be required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering
- Experience and knowledge of gas turbine engineering principles of design, operation and support.
- Possess broad knowledge and understanding of Solar’s business.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively under deadlines.
- Must be comfortable with operating in undefined spaces and with high levels of ambiguity
- Proactive, high performer with strong commercial background
- Willing to take measured risks to fulfill business needs
- Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues using practical as well as out of the box thinking
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate teams with a visionary mindset to find the best enterprise solution for the Product and Solar
- Ability to work in a fast paced, teaming environment, capable of handling multiple projects with competing priorities, while meeting project deadlines
- Experience with Lean/Agile methodologies
