We’re looking for passionate Operations Engineer to join the 5F Product Engineering team in Orlando. As an Operations Engineer, your day centers around operational data analysis, testing preparation, engine testing and resolving technical issues for 5000F product. The operational engineer is the cognizant engineer for Gas Turbine new unit and Modernizations & Upgrade products for SGT6-5000F. The scope of responsibility extends to coordinating support from all other organizations directed towards development, negotiations and implementations for the new unit and Modernizations and Upgrade (M&U) product line.
- Testing preparation and field validation including testing at test-bed and customer sites.
- Lead and facilitate fast resolution of technical issues of sold GTs. This includes evaluation of a root cause, solution development and implementation followed by verification/validation.
- Operational data analysis of new units to identify trends and potential issues
- Technical definition of Gas Turbine (GT) Operation Modes (e.g. Load Gradients, Grid-Code, Additional Features, Control System)
- Close interaction and alignment with GT Module Engineering, Auxiliary/ controls and BOP.
- Creation of related technical documentation
- Analysis of related technical risks
- Support of offering (Negotiation) process for GT projects with focus on GT operation
- Support of COE projects for first time applications
- 10-25% travel is expected in support of customer meetings, site walk-downs, vendor support, testing, and product implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university/college. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of successful experience in a gas turbine development environment with extensive understanding of gas turbine design, operational aspects & improvement levers. Advanced degree may be substituted for experience, where applicable.- Strong communications skills, network building, and solid engineering background. Good program management skills is preferred.
