Position Summary

A career in Gas Supply offers the opportunity to manage gas procurement and support key activities throughout the utility's demand/supply cycle. This includes negotiating short-term gas purchase contracts, assisting with long-term supply planning, and securing off-system sales agreements and transaction services. Additionally, provides backup support for scheduling operations, including submitting daily nominations, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with end-of-month activities.

Gas Supply roles oversee the company's physical gas operations, ensuring a reliable daily supply while scheduling and allocating commodities safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include purchasing gas, responding to critical situations, and collaborating across key functions within the team and the broader SJI organization.

Essential Functions:* Negotiates direct gas purchase agreements with producers, suppliers, or gas marketers.

Additional:* Performing (under some supervision) assigned tasks that support day-to-day activities and project goals.

This role will develop professional expertise and apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. You will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. It is expected that you will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Additionally, you will build productive internal/external working relationships.

It is expected that your role applies intermediate level skills to projects or assignments within own group/project team. You will receive general instructions on routine work and receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Qualifications

Required Background:* Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or;

Required Skills:* Knowledge of excel and other computer systems

Compensation Range:

$69,000 - 110,400

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
