Gas Service Technician Tier I, Entry Level

The candidate selected for this role will have a steep learning curve to get up to speed with company policies, procedures and safety practices in addition to developing the skills and knowledge necessary to progress to more senior positions. What skills/attributes you must possess for consideration:

- Current DOT Med Cert

- Clean driving record

- Must live within 28 miles of Centreville, MD - No Exceptions

- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, climbing, lifting heavy equipment, hand digging and working in confined spaces

- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol tests (DOT Regulated)

- Prior exposure to plumbing, construction, HVAC, electrical or similar preferred

- Prior experience in the service industries preferred

- Previous labor positions encouraged to apply

- Ability to work independently without supervision or in a team environment

- Articulate written and verbal communication

- Strong mechanical aptitude with outstanding diagnostic skills

- Reliable transportation to and from work

- Willing to work in adverse weather conditions

- Respectful of customers and fellow employees

- Systematic problem solving skills

- Genuine attention to detail

- Willingness to strictly adhere to company policies and procedures

What you’ll be doing:

- Position hours are M-F 8AM-4:30PM with overtime as needed

- Provide professional and courteous service to our customers and employees

- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and objections in a courteous manner

- Accurately complete daily task sheets with all required information

- Complete daily work orders with full descriptions including complaint, cause and correction as well as all required inspection information

- Maintain company property and offices

- Keep company storage clean and organized

- Maintain tank dock cleanliness, appearance and readiness

- Fill and recertify propane tanks

- Receiving and stocking of shipments

- Effectively assist senior technicians on job sites

- Safely drive company vehicles in various weather conditions

- Operate company vehicles by company and DOT regulations including inspections

- Prepare and load/unload propane tanks and equipment for daily operations

- Perform every duty in a safe and professional manner

- Other duties as assigned

Wages and benefits:

- Pay range: $40,000 - $45,000 per year

- Pay rate based upon candidate meeting all above requirements, should a candidate with lesser or greater experience be considered the pay rate will be adjusted accordingly
